A review of Ao Nang and Krabi (Thailand)

Image
Ao Nang and Krabi province review This is a review of the Nine Thipthara hotel and the town of Krabi and associated tourist spots around. The word Thailand is popularly associated to night life , parties etc. , and its surprising to actually find a place thats not really that crowded , yet offers you amazing sightseeing spots around by way of pretty amazing beaches , lagoons ,   temples , mountains , fields and all that beauty that Thailand has to offer. And yes, it certainly does have its fair share of night markets, street food, shopping , pubs , beach cafes , that you’d need to make your holiday complete !! At just over an hours flight away from Bangkok , Krabi is well connected by flight via 4-5 regional airlines that fly the sector. There are multiple flights in a day, so connections shouldn’t be a problem. Greenery and nature beckon even before you land. Beautiful mountain tops , lush fields , valleys and streams below await you. Krabi international airport is ...

Maldives – where you’d want time to stand still

Maldives – where you’d want time to stand still This is a review of Paradise Island Resort , and Male city. Much is known about Maldives being one of the most beautiful and exotic destinations of the world and certainly, the Maldives lives upto that title. Maldives, a must visit destination is the ultimate beach destination with powdery white sand beaches opening into the lagoon with colors that vary from light green to dark green and eventually opening into the Indian Ocean. Somewhere in the late 1980’s the islands were open for tourism and I’ve learnt that its consciously kept exotic to regulate the numbers and types of tourists that come into the islands. No wonder, Maldives is sparsely populated either with tourists and locals , thereby keeping it pristine and virgin. With approximately 90 islands leased out to private resorts, there’s almost no name you wouldn’t find. Every resort is a self contained ecosystem in itself with everything available in-house. One of these is ...

Bhutan – Land of prayer wheels and prayer flags , at the very heart of the Himalayas. Though a close neighbor of India, and having heard so much about this beautiful country that is unique in a way that it measures its progress in terms of GNH (Gross National Happiness), I had never until now had a chance to visit. Before I begin , I can say with all certainty that this is among the most beautiful of places I’ve visited … ever ! The culture, the landscapes, the hospitality, the people , its all absolutely an out of world experience ! This is a review of a trip to Bhutan covering specifically Western Bhutan I.e. the cities of the capital Thimphu , and subsequently Punakha and Paro. A trip to Bhutan (Via Air) Starts with an adrenaline pumping landing often making its way to the top 5 most dangerous in the world), and also offers some extremely scenic views of the himalayan mountains and valleys below. The airport is very small and quaint. Do not expect options in terms of duty free...

Malacca review TOTALLY WORTH IT FOR HISTORY AND CULTURE BUFFS ! Place: Malacca, dubbed "The Historic State", is a state in Malaysia and located in the southern region of the Malay Peninsula, next to the Straits of Malacca. It borders Negeri Sembilan to the north and Johor to the south. The capital is Malacca City, which is 148 kilometres (92 miles) south east of Malaysia's capital city Kuala Lumpur, 235 kilometres (146 miles) north west of Johor's largest city Johor Bahru, and 95 km (59 miles) north west of Johor's second largest city, Batu Pahat. This historical city centre has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 7 July 2008. The city has had a long history of conquests and rulers thereby giving it a rich cultural heritage, one which is well maintained and preserved as tourist attractions. The place is most certainly suitable for history and culture buffs who'd like to study and know more on Melaka's rich cultural history and heritage...

Singapore – a melting potpourri and fusion of Sorts !!

Singapore – a melting potpourri and fusion of Sorts !! The magic of Singapore starts with a picturesque landing at the world famous no 1 airport , Changi. Its amazing to see how Singapore boasts of some of the world’s largest , despite being one of the smallest countries in the world. Located at the southernmost tip of the peninsula that has many other famous tourist destinations in Asia such as Malaysia, Thailand and further up Burma, Singapore is known for having the largest duty free Sea port , largest Airport , and the best of zoos , parks , theme parks , etc. and of course, its fair share of shopping arcades What we did: We stayed at Singapore for only two days of which we spent one entire day at the Sentosa island Universal Studios theme park. It takes up to an entire day to see and complete everything in the Universal studios theme park.  Located across the strait of Singapore, Sentosa is a small island south of Singapore. It packs a punch however, with Univers...
